H.7 · Is it working? Data-based decisions

You've started an intervention and the data points are coming in. So how do you tell whether to keep going, make a change, or stop, without going on gut feeling?

Key takeaway
Look at the graph on a set schedule and compare intervention data with baseline and with the aim line. Check level, trend, variability, immediacy of change, and overlap. If progress stalls, check measurement (IOA) and treatment integrity before changing the plan. Then continue, modify, fade, move to the next phase, or end, based on decision rules you set ahead of time and never on one unusual data point.
