C.12 · Measuring procedural integrity
Your intervention looks perfect on paper, but is it really being delivered that way when you're not in the room? Let's work out how to measure procedural integrity so your data shows what's really happening.
Key takeaway
Procedural integrity is how closely the independent variable is carried out as planned. First pick the dimension you need: accuracy (was each component done correctly?) or dosage (how much did the client actually get?). Then pick a method that captures it, and score each component or opportunity so a missed critical step doesn't get hidden in an overall percentage. Finally, spread your observations across implementers, times, and settings, and make them hard to predict, so the sample is representative.
